Kenneth Roberts Scholarship Winners and Perpetual Grants Continue

Tuesday, September 9th, we awarded five Kenneth Roberts Scholarships to Caldwell County Schools seniors who have demonstrated strong leadership, noteworthy scholarship and exemplary citizenship. Each recipient receiving $1,000 for their senior expenses prepping for advanced education.

Danica Benge, Genesis Estrada-Guzman and Gabriel Ibarra from West Caldwell High.

Darby Richards from Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy and Bailey Smith from South Caldwell High.

We also awarded four Perpetual Grants to support projects that will enhance the quality of Caldwell County’s public education, increase public confidence in our schools and strengthen the educational experiences of the children in our schools.

Ethan Ostwalt, teacher at Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy will offer his students a STEM experience known as iFLY.

Cathy Barlow, principal at Gamewell Elementary will use grant funds to provide students at her school with a STEM experience known as The Hovercraft Project.

Emily Aldaco, teacher at Hudson Elementary will continue adding to a sculpture walk with hands on sculpting at the school campus.

Jennifer Crain, teacher at Hudson Middle will use an innovative anatomy curriculum known as Body Detectives in her science classroom.
